{"id":65,"date":"2008-11-27T04:14:23","date_gmt":"2008-11-27T10:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.curtisgibby.com\/blog\/65\/standing-something\/"},"modified":"2010-05-19T08:14:10","modified_gmt":"2010-05-19T14:14:10","slug":"standing-something","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curtisgibby.com\/blog\/2008\/11\/standing-something\/","title":{"rendered":"Standing for Something"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At ten months, Nathan has been learning to stand on his own.<\/p>\n<p>At first, he didn&#8217;t trust himself on his feet. \u00a0 As soon as he  realized he was up alone, he&#8217;d immediately sit down &#8212; but it was a  controlled sit. \u00a0 So we would distract\/bribe him with a treat or toy and  he&#8217;d be up for a few more seconds. \u00a0 (That&#8217;s why I called this post  &#8220;Standing for Something&#8221;.)<\/p>\n<p>But in the last couple of days, he&#8217;s gotten used to standing up. \u00a0 He  even laughs when he realizes that&#8217;s what&#8217;s going on, rather than bailing  out. \u00a0 I took a photo of his new trick yesterday, but it&#8217;s still on my  camera and we don&#8217;t have the cord with us. \u00a0 I&#8217;ll post it when we get  home tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Here&#8217;s the promised photo.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"View - My Pictures - Nathan Standing By Himself (10  months)\" href=\"\/pictures\/262\/nathan-standing-himself-10-months-old\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/pics\/2008_Nathan_Standing.jpg\" alt=\"My Pictures -  Nathan Standing By Himself (10 months)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At ten months, Nathan has been learning to stand on his own.
